Dave's road to fame began with a strong hankerin' for fine barbeque and an even stronger desire to make the finest slow-smoked barbeque folks have ever tasted. He visited rib shacks, roadside joints, every hole-in-the-wall or fancy pants supper club he could, all in search of the most succulent meats, savory seasonings and lipsmackin' BBQ sauces around.

After 25 years of tastin' and cookin', Dave's barbeque just plain knocked the socks off his family and friends. That's when Dave decided he had to share. He wanted to give all the folks a chance to dig into the best BBQ ever. And in a place as down-home fun and frolicsome as the shacks and clubs he went a callin' on all those years.

It wasn't too many years after Dave opened his first restaurant that his award-winning BBQ began sweepin' the nation.  Having grown up in the south, with roots in Philadelphia, local restaurateur David Marks knew that the Delaware Valley was cravin' Real Honest BBQ.  He knew that Famous Dave's made-from-scratch recipes, fresh produce and the highest-quality meats smoked out back would hit the spot.  Philly got its first taste of Dave's in 2005, and the locals were hooked!  David assembled a team of local BBQ lovers and Pit Masters and Famous Dave's grew to 6 locally owned and operated restaurants in Pennsylvania, Delaware and South Jersey.  Continuing the tradition of award-winning BBQ, David and his team founded Wilbur's Revenge: a professional BBQ Competition Team that has taken the circuit by storm.  No matter where we go, our passion is servin' up the Best BBQ to our neighbors.
